To get the most out of your app, please have a look at the information below. There are lots of features in the app that may not be clearly visible, such as gestures, or it may not be clearly understandable how certain things work, such as persistence. Hopefully you find all of the information you’re seeking below. If not, please do contact us! Thanks for choosing TimeTapr!

How do I add days for work?

You have two options for adding a new day.

  1. On the dashboard, tap the Quick Add Today button if you’re needing to start the current day. This will create a new entry for the current date and set the first timeslot as the current time. This makes it easy to start your day. Simply tap this button when your clock starts.
  2. On the bottom menu, tap the Add icon to enter a day manually. This option requires you to set the date, timeslot(s) and any notes you’d like to enter, then save.

How can I track project time?

You can use the notes field to specify things, like:

  • Client Name
  • Project Name
  • Hours on Each

For example:

ProjectName1 2hr
ProjectName2 1.5hr finished widget ABC

Then you can use the search feature to search for “projectname1” or “widget abc” to fetch all days worked on those projects. You can then export them from the dashboard using the Export Period button. NOTE: the search box must be open to apply search results to the export, instead of just the selected period.

What do I need to use the exports?

You will need either an app that can open CSV files installed, or you can email the CSV to a system that has a program such as Excel to open the CSV file.

How does the period selection work?

There are 5 predefined date ranges to make things easy. These were chosen as most needed options. They are:

  • This Week
  • Last Week
  • Last 2 Weeks
  • This Month
  • Last Month

The ranges are relative to the current date. Weeks are set to end on Sundays, so Monday – Sunday is a single week.

How does the search feature work?

Simply tap the magnifying lens icon on the heading of the dashboard or day list boxes. The search box will appear and you can enter what you’d like to find. Searches are exact, but not case sensitive.

If your day notes were: “Worked on the XYZ widget for the ABC customer”

You could search for:

  • XYZ
  • XYZ widget
  • ABC
  • ABC customer

But you wouldn’t be able to find that day if you searched:

  • XYZ ABC customer

Because there are words between “XYZ” and “ABC customer”.

The search will remain applied until you tap the lens icon again, which will close the search box, and remove the search filter. Closing also resets the search words. The searches also apply to the selected date range. So, if you want to find something that was last week, you must select last week as the period, then search.

What is the U.S. holidays notice for?

Most people live busy lives, and sometimes we forget that there’s a holiday coming up. If this feature is enabled, the notice is shown at the very top of the dashboard. The system looks into the next week, and if there is a National Holiday, you will see a notice. That way, you can plan for that day if your work recognizes that day as a “day off” day.
